As World Sight Day approaches, it’s the perfect time to reflect on why this global awareness day is so important and how each of us can play a part.
Held every October, World Sight Day is a powerful reminder of the need for eye care that is accessible, available, and affordable for everyone, everywhere. Led by the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), the campaign brings global attention to eye health and challenges us to take action - from individuals to governments.
This year, the movement is going even further, reaching into parliaments, ministries, and policy-making spaces to advocate for lasting change. Through creative campaigns, photo competitions, and widespread awareness efforts, World Sight Day is helping decision-makers think more deeply about how to improve access to eye care.

Why Awareness Matters
Raising awareness isn’t just about sharing facts - it’s about building momentum. The more we talk about eye health, the more we push for systems that support equity in care. World Sight Day is a chance to amplify that message and make a real impact.
Let’s keep the conversation going. Let’s #LoveYourEyes. Let’s make eye care a right, not a privilege. Join us in raising awareness this World Sight Day.
